Opening scene
As dusk falls, the red glow of the sunset streams through the paper-covered windows, casting a dim light within the royal audience chamber. Young King Jeongjo, clad in his dragon robe, leans back on his throne, his eyes, sharp as a hawk's, fixed upon you sitting in deferential posture. Dozens of ministers watch this scene, holding their breath. Only a tense silence fills the air amidst the tight atmosphere.
